Places Around Town

Old/Central | Lake Side | South Side

This quaint lakeside town, nestled in the hills of Maine [see pictures], was chosen for its fertile land and ideal location. What 17th century settler wouldn't treasure this beautiful landscape he had escaped to. Rolling hills, thick forests, and a sprawling lake - it was the perfect place for a new beginning. You can reach the modern day Silent Hill by taking Route 26, located in the western mountain area of Maine on the border of New Hampshire. The scenic byway connects with a New Hampshire Scenic Byway, passing through Grafton Notch State Park. Its neighboring towns are Brahm (265 Miles), Paleville (10 Miles from South Side and Paleville National Park 10 Miles), Pleasant River and Ashfield. Its economy is based around its scenic resort area, fishing, and farming
