Midwich Elementary School
Kim Gordon
She is a teacher at Midwich Elementary School and resides over Alessa's second grade class. She suspects that Alessa is being abused at home and considers consulting a lawyer in hopes of finding out what can be done to help her student. She is too late though and Alessa is later burned alive. What with scatered debri and broken plates around her kitchen the day Harry passed through her house, its thought that maybe the Order confronted her and got into a violent confrontation. She also might have been killed outside of her garage and dragged into the home's garden. She may of had a love for The Wizard of Oz as well.

Lee Ranaldo
He is a teacher at Midwich Elementary School.

Thurston Moore
He is a teacher at Midwich Elementary School.

Silent Hill Police Department
Officer Gucci
He was the Silent Hill Police Department's Narcotics Officer. He was investigating the PTV-trafficking problem. His Medical records show that he suffered a natural death, but because he had no signs of heart disease, others believe he was murdered by a PTV dealer. His death is still unsolved.

Coroner Seals
He was the Silent Hill Police Department's Coroner. He began investigating Officer Gucci's death.

St. Alchemilla Hospital
Dr. Graham Nolan - A Pediatrics doctor who worked in the hospital during the 1970s.

Nurse Elisa - A nurse who probably worked in Pediatrics ward of the the hospital during the 1970s.

Dr. Michael Kaufman - He was born in 1936, during the great depression, to possibly followers of the Order. He attended Midwich Elementary in 1941 and graduated from High School 1953. After attending college to a become a doctor, he began working at St. Alchemilla Hospital. Its uclear how long it took him to reach the position of director of the hospital or when his status in the Order escalated, but in 1986, 50 year old Michael was not only that, but also a drug lord, dealing exclusively with PTV, a hallucinogen made out of the local plant, White Claudia. How he was connected to Dahlia and Alessa is still unknown (some believe he is Alessa's father), but he did help with Alessa's birth. After Alessa is burned alive, he and several members of The Order hid Alessa away in the basement of the Hospital to recover. Michael placed the girl under the care of Lisa Garland with the understanding that she could not reveal the girl's whereabouts to anyone. He also supplied Lisa, like most of the hospital staff, with White Claudia, so that he could use her/their addiction against them. When Lisa threatened to leave, he killed her. In the seven years that Dalia was waiting for the other half of Alessa's spirit to return, he created Aglophotis in case the Priestess betrayed the Cult. When Cheryl and Alessa combined to create the Incubus, Kauffman is dragged by Lisa's vengeful spirit into the bowels of the Chapel to kill him.

Creator's comment: His name is a combination of the names Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, two Troma Studios producers known for many B-movies such as "The Toxic Avenger". There isn't a particularly deep significance.

Lisa Garland
She was born a 1963, to Mr. and Mrs. Garland. She attended Midwich Elementary in 1968 and graduated from High School in 1980. In 1979, now a nurse at St. Alchemilla Hospital, Lisa was assigned, by Dr. Michael Kaufmann, to care for Alessa Gallespie who had recieved third degree burns. She was ordered not to reveal the girls whereabouts. Lisa, like most of the hospital, was addicted to the drug White Claudia. To keep him from cutting off her supply, she went along with caring with Alessa, even though the job made her constantly stressed and nauseous (Alessa was covered in unhealing pus-and-blood-filled wounds that need bandaging). After becoming fed up with her hallucinations (bugs and pus coming out of the facets), 23-year-old Lisa threats to leave the hospital (quite possibly threatening to reveal where Alessa was and who was supplying everyone with PTV) and Kaufman killed her (probably with blows to the head, due to her end game injuries). Disappearing without a trace shortly thereafter and confirmed dead, it shocked everyone when she returned to the hospital to care for Alessa.

When Cheryl returned to Silent Hill and Dahlia began using Harry to get to her, Alessa used Lisa to keep him at bay. Slowly, Lisa begins to realize she is a monster trapped in Alessa's version of Alternate Silent Hill. When Alessa's hold on the Alternate World falters, Lisa's humanity fades and she slowly becomes one more vengeful entity of the town. In the end, she drags Dr. Kauffman down into the depths of the chapel to have her vengence.

Creator's comment: "The name Lisa comes from an actress (Stefania D'Amario) who plays a nurse and is a murderer in the movie Sanguelia. Her last name is borrowed from Judy Garland, who plays a character in "The Wizard of Oz" who has lost her way in a dreamland." - Lost Memories. Its also believed that the creation of her is influenced by a nurse in The Exorcist 3.

Hope House Orphanage (Wish House)

Walter Sullivan
Tarot Card: "Strength"
21 sacraments: Assumption
In the town of Ashfield, Walter Sullivan was born in 1970 and soon after, abandoned by his mother and father inside their Apartment #302 at Ashfield Heights. He was found by Frank Sunderland (his umbilical cord that Frank found near him was taken as a souvenir), he was sent to the St. Jerome Hospital and then adopted by the Wish House/Hope House. Growing up in the orphanage, he learned the ways of the cult. He believes the old apartment where he was abandoned is his mother. He takes the subway and visits the apartment very often to check on "his mother". His regular visits annoy the occupants. On one occasion, he witnessed Richard Braintree skinning Mike, a tenant who was stalking another tenant named Rachel. Richard beat him to teach him a lesson. Still studying under the Order, he learnt of the ritual of 21 Sacraments, which is used to revive the holy mother. He decides to carry out the ritual to ressurect his mother so he can be reborn. He began with killing ten residents, so that he may perform the Ritual of Assumption, which releases him from his mortal flesh and allows him the power to create the alternate world in which he can kill 20 more people. When he was arrested by police for the murder of Billy and Miriam Locane of Silent Hill, he commited suicide early on the morning of his trial day, shoving a spoon two inches into his neck. When he returns to the real world as a spirit, digs up his body and hides it behind a wall he made in room #302. From there be begins killing again. Before Henry moved into the apartment, Walter had already killed four people - including the previous tenant.

Ben - He was a ward of the Hope House Orphanage (Wish House) 30 years ago (as of 2007). The night of the massacure, Ben was visiting Dr. Graham Nolan in Alchemilla Hospital. His nurse Elisa, at the orphanage, gently told him that he had been diagnosed with a serious form of cancer. This bit of information sent him into the Boys' Washroom to hide from the others and cry. There, he commited suicide with his fellow orphans, Moon and Karen. Before his death, he roomed with two boys named Leonard and George, who were killed in their beds. Thirty years later, his spirit reawakens in the Orphanage, believing he is returning alive, after having escaped a massacure where children were murdered in their beds. He only discovers the truth after going in search of his fellow ward, Karen, and instead finding the note his nurse was given about his cancer. He also remembers Karen, who he believes as one of the three who survived the "massacure".

Karen - She was a ward of the Hope House Orphanage (Wish House) 30 years ago (as of 2007). Karen was a quiet girl who was friends with Alessa (who like Claudia, refered to her as 'a sister'). Her spirit returns to find that she is locked in a storage closet. There she encounter's Ben's spirit who tries to rescue her, but discovers his true fate too soon. The spirit of dark Alessa unlocks the door while Karen is napping. This visitation reminds Karen that it was she who killed everyone in the orphanage, at the request of Alessa. Karen feels remorse for killing all her fellow wards, which makes Alessa feel as though she has turned against her. She manifests Moon as a monster to deal with Karen and leaves.

Moon - She was a ward of the Hope House Orphanage (Wish House) 30 years ago (as of 2007). After several attempts at suicide, since the age of three, her overwhelmed parents placed her in an orphanage. Like Ben, she commited suicide in the Boys' Washroom, but before death, she meets up with Alessa who turns her into a monster. Unlike Ben, believing she is alive, but that only three children died.

Her Letter: "I'm sorry about everything I did. I know it's my fault entirely. It has been tormenting me since I was a small child and I tried to put things right all those times. Finally you grew tired of me, but how could you understand how I felt? Through the years I forgot what I had to do, but now it's all clear again. This time I'll do it right and do what has to be done. I'll leave this life and everything will be good again. I know it's best for everyone and that is what you all truly want deep inside. To who ever finds this note - my life will end in the boys' washroom. Goodbye Mom. Goodbye Dad." [Valtiel's Silent Hill Site]

The Gallespies

Dahlia Gallespie
She was born in 1940, during the great depression, to possibly followers of the Order. She attended Midwich Elementary in 1945 and graduated from High School 1958. Weather the Silent Hill's Green Lion Antique Shop was in the family or a creation of Dahlia's, she began running it sometime after her school. At some point before Allessa's birth, Dahlia was trying to find a means of giving birth to the Cult's god but was unsuccessful. In 1972, Dahlia (32) discovered a way for the god to be reborn and became pregnant with Alessa (the husband supposedly is Dr. Kauffman (33)). The Order believed, in order to bring about Paradise, the new born girl would have to be ensouled with the spirit of the god, which became a fetus, so that it may be reborn. After Alessa was given the soul of the god, Dahlia began raising her harshly and without love, in order to properly 'nurture' the fetus within her.

Six years later, in the October of 1975, Dahlia (35) visited the Order run Orphanage and took the opportunity to have a Plan B for the rebirth of the Order's God and the bringing about of Paradise. She tricked a young Walter Sullivan, who was a resident of the Hope House and a follower of the Order, making him believe that his mother was dead and that he could resurrect her by performing the 21 Sacrements.

Four years pass and Dahlia (39) begins to notice ber 7-year-old daughter's powers are beginning to strengthen and decides that it was time to sacrifice her daughter in hopes of birthing the god. Her attempt failed, when the god's soul protected Alessa enough to keep her alive, Alessa splitting herself in two so that the god could not be reborn. After the girl was rescued from the house by a passing trucker, Travis O'Grady, the Order placed her in isolation under St. Alchemilla hospital. Despite their displeasure with Dahlia, they gave her another chance when she told them that she knew Alessa's other soul would eventually retuned, so they waited.

In 1986, after seven years of waiting, the other half of Alessa and the god-soul, returns and is immediately hidden away by Alessa by her connection with the town's power. Dahlia (46) tricks Harry Mason into helping her capture Alessa, telling him that she is evil. When Cheryl and Alessa are combined to create the Incubus, Dahila is killed.

Creator's comment: She is named after a former wife (Daria Nicolodi) of film director Dario Argento. Argento has made many horror movies including Suspiria, and is a master of the genre.

Her Monster: The God (Incubus) - incarnation of her mental image of the Order's god.

Cheryl Mason
Alessa's Tarot Card: The Empress
Cheryl's Tarot Card: The Fool
She (17 year old or 31/38 in collected years) is the third incarnation of Alessa Gillespie. Alessa was born in 1972 to Dahlia Gillespie and an unknown father (though some believe it was Michael Kauffman), in Alchemilla Hospital. She was suppose to follow her mother's footsteps, but when the Order discovered her powers, they decided she would be the perfect host for their god. The Order believed that the only way to achieve paradise was to ensoul a girl with the spirit of the Order's god so it could be reborn. This honor was given to Alessa, who soon became known as 'The Mother of God'. At a young age, the god-fetus inside her made her powers strengthen (she was able to use her mind to create and control things such as appariations and contort the world), causing her grief in school. Her homelife was no better. Dahlia cared only to nurture the god-fetus by treating Alessa harshly and when Alessa acted out, she was either tied to her bed or locked in their home's attic where she wrote and drew on the walls all her frustrations. Even though both her homelife and her school time were hard on her, she was as carefree as a girl could be in her situation. She enjoyed collecting butterflies, reading fairytales, drawing pictures, and playing with her rag doll Scarlett. She was also close friends with Claudia Wolf, the daughter of Leonard Wolf, another cult member, who was two years younger than her. They use to sit in her room and play cards and draw.

In 1979, when Alessa was seven, Dahlia realized that her daughter's powers were intensifying and believed that was a sign that the Order's god was ready to be born. The cult believed that only through fire can a person be purified, so to release the god within her daughter, Dahlia locked her in her room and set the house on fire. Alessa begged her mother not to do it, but she was left alone in her room to die. With the god-fetus inside her protecting her from cremation, she split not only her own soul but the soul of the old god, creating herself again in the form of a baby girl. With the last bit of strength she had, Alessa transported the baby to the side of the road where she knew Harry Mason (25) and his wife would find her and give her a better life. As Alessa's other half was was taken back to the Mason home, Alessa was pulled from the wreckage of the house and rushed to St. Alchemilla Hospital where she was treated for third degree burns and placed under the care of Dr. Kauffman and Nurse, Lisa Garland. Dahlia discovered what her daughter had done and suggested to the Doctor that Alessa be placed in isolation in the Hospital's basement until Alessa's other half returned to the town. Kauffman agreed and placed Lisa in charge of her care.

While the other half of Alessa was imprisioned in her own charred body, the other half became a part of the Mason family. She was named Cheryl and given everything a daughter needed. For three years she was raised with love by Harry and his wife, who she was very close to (a bond she wanted but could never have with her mother Dahlia), but that all changed in 1982, when Mrs. Mason became ill and died. Traumatized by their loss, Harry (28) and Cheryl (3) became inseperable for four years. She was a happy and carefree child who loved to draw (Harry had bought her a sketchbook when she was five (1984), her first drawing in it was of him). In Silent Hill Alessa's other half was kept company by her Nurse, Lisa, who she became close to depite her situation.

April 15th 1986, Cheryl turned seven, Harry suggested that they go on a vacation - he let her pick the place. In Silent Hill, Lisa gave the fourteen year old Alessa a diary to celebrate the removal of her bandages. Alessa remembered the man she had given her other half to and wanted to meet him. Sensing her other half, she unconciously called to her. Cheryl, still deciding on the vacation, felt the pull towards Silent Hill. She asked Harry if they could go and he agreed. That week, while Cheryl and Harry planned their vacation, Alessa waited, writing in her journal, desperately wanting to leave her confines. There had been a fight outside her room and she had heard the next day that someone who was suppose to be dead had comeback to life, but she didn't realize that she had unconciously resurrected her Nurse, Lisa, who had been beaten to death by Dr. Kauffman. Friday evening, the doctor gave Alessa a necklace with a special pendant with a tablet of Aglophotis locked inside. That Saturday, April 20th, Harry and Cheryl left town and drove down to Silent Hill. Alessa wanted to leave the basement, but feared she would be tied up to the bed for misbehaving, so she used her powers to remove her spirit from her body so she could walk around the town as an astral projection. In the middle of the night, Harry and Cheryl arrived on the highway outside of Silent Hill. Alessa wandered out into the road, not noticing the jeep hurtling towards her until it was too late. When the car made contact with Alessa's spirit, the two halves of Alessa's spirit combined and Dahlia became aware of the god's return. When her split spirit combined, Alessa realized that her mother would come to get her before she could even meet Harry. She used her powers to effect the town so that she could hide herself away, summoning the Olympic Spirits to protect herself while she waited for Harry. When Dahlia started using Harry against her and Alessa used Lisa to keep him away from her while he had the Flauros. In the end, it was no use, Harry was able to use the Flauros to break through Alessa's world and Dahlia brought them to the Chapel's altar, where she performed the ritual to combine them so the god could be born. Alessa becomes the "Mother of God" ("Holy Woman in White", "Incubator" or possibly "Lobsel Vith: the Yellow God"), before Dr. Kaufmann throws his bottle of Aglaphotis onto her and causes her to transform into what Dahlia envisioned as the Order's god, in the image of Samael ("God" "Incubus" or possibly "Lobsel Vith: the Yellow God"). When Harry destroys the Incubus, the soul becomes trapped inside the dying Alessa once again. Combining the two alteregos of her body, Alessa creats her third incarnation, transfering all three souls into the baby girl's body and giving it to Harry. Before she died, Alessa tells him he is a good man before letting Cheryl say goodbye.

Harry left with the baby girl, adopting and naming her Cheryl. He moved to Portland, Maine so Cheryl could live out a normal life without worrying about anyone from Silent Hill finding him. Harry and her grew close, sharing a very strong father-daughter connection, much like her past incarnation had - even though she was unaware of Harry secretly feeling conflicted on what Cheryl was and if he should kill her. In 1991, a member of The Order came to the Mason home looking Cheryl (5). Harry shot and killed the man, pleading self-defense in court, which won him the case. Both legally took up different aliases, Cheryl becoming "Heather", and moved to a town outside of Silent Hill. They started anew on the first floor of the Daisy Villa Apartments, room #2. 2001, Harry gave Cheryl the pendant Dr. Kauffman had given Alessa for her fourteenth birthday - for Cheryl's fifteenth birthday.

In 2003, Cheryl is like any other seventeen year old girl. She goes through various part-time jobs, is into much of the same things Cheryl and Alessa were into - but really is just your normal teenage girl, whose very protective of her past. One afternoon, after falling asleep in the local mall's Happy Burger, she makes a call to her dad before heading home. She meets up with Douglas Crevant, a Detective hired by the Claudia, Alessa's old friend and now a Priestess of the Order, some months ago to find Heather and remind her of her true past. Getting spooked, she runaways from him and hides out in the bathroom before climbing out into the alleyway behind the mall. When she heads back through a backdoor, she steps into the alternate plane that Claudia created to nurture the god fetus within Cheryl - the same Alessa created to protect herself from Dahlia. After fighting a few monsters Claudia had created, the two meet in a hallway. Claudia only gives her an enimatic explanation before leaving Cheryl to deal with the pain (headsplitting migraines) of the god fetus growing inside of her. Fighting through the mall, she is able to escape the alternate world briefly, meeting up with Douglas, who is also trapped in the alternate world with her. She deserts him though, fighting through the mall subway and the buildings she is forced to travel through alone. Before freeing herself again, Cheryl meets up with Vincent, the Order's Priest. Even though she can't tell what his intentions are and becomes confused by his story - she does feel that he is more trustworthy than Claudia.

When she arrives back at the apartment, she discovers the body of her father mutilated in his chair. Following the bloody footsteps up to the roof, she discovers that Claudia ordered a cult missonary to kill her father (who becomes affected by Claudia's powers so that he appears monstrous) and vows to kill Claudia. But the Priestess escapes back to Silent Hill, leaving the missionary to be dealt with, as a way to nuture the god fetus. Killing the cult missionary, Cheryl returns to the apartment to grieve and plan her next move. Douglas arrives and she blames him for Claudia finding her and killing her father. He doesn't disagree, but offers to help her. At first she declines, but after helping her with placing her father in his bed and creating a small burial for him, she agrees to let him drive her there. Before they leave, Vincent meets up with Douglas, who is waiting for Cheryl downstairs. He gives him Harry's old notebook to give to Cheryl, who, after reading it in the car, begins to remember the two halves she had repressed for so long.

When they get to Silent Hill, Douglas rents a room at Jack's Inn for them and they get some sleep. The next day, Douglas, by Cheryl's request, leaves her to look for Claudia on her own while he searchs the town himself. Getting a tip, she goes to the Brookhaven Mental Institution, where she deals with Leonard Wolf, Claudia's father, and later kills him - taking the Seal of Metatron to use again Claudia. As she closes in on Claudia, she finds out more and more about her alterego, Alessa and meets up with Douglas again after he is attacked by the Priestess. Before she finds her way into the Order's Chapel, she fights the memory of Alessa's obsession, her want to die so that the god inside of her could not be born. When she arrives in the Chapel and makes it through the Priestess' twisted vision, she and Claudia come head to head. In the course of their fight, Vincent is stabbed to death for interfering and Cheryl realizes that she must throw up the god-fetus or she would die. Using the tablet of Aglophotis inside the pendant her father had given her to her, she throws up the god-fetus. A desperate Claudia swallows the fetus, merging herself with the Incubus and falling into the Chapel's blood chasm. Without hesitation, Cheryl leaps down into the underground room and kills Claudia, halting the Order's prophisized ascension. Returning to the surface, Cheryl meets back up with Douglas, who waited for her in the amusement park. They return to her apartment, where they bury her father and she drops her "Heather" alias. She was later put on trial for the murder of her father, but was proven innocent with the help of Douglas. She likes cookies, Chocolate, Silver rings, fairy tales, "The Lost World" by Conan Doyle, drawing, and playing cards. She dislikes mirrors, big dogs, bugs and snakes, adults, and being teased. She carries a pocket knife with her.

Creator's comment: Alessa- In the initial stages of development we used the name Asia, which is taken from the daughter of the Italian film director Dario Argento. However, because it's such an uncommon name, we decided to rename her. Alessa, who lies dormant inside heather, makes appearances in various places as her memories are revived. The resaon why her behavior differs depending on the place is in accordance with what's written in the occult magazine that was dripped in the subway. The principle behind her behavior is that she desires to escape from suffering. It will become easier to understand if I say "to die"." Cheryl- Originally we wanted to call her Dolores for the same reasons as Harry's character, but this met with fierce opposition and was rejected. The name originates from Sheryl Lee, but there is no particular significance. Heather- Her name comes from Miss Heather Morris, who did Heather's voice and motion in the game. At first we had chosen the name "Helen," but it was pointed out that this name is old-fashioned and so it was changed. French actresses such as Charlotte Gainsbourg and Vanessa Paradis were her models. "The Fool card in the game suggest Heather. This card means departure, potentiality and recklessness. I think that her recklessness is fighting against Claudia and, in a certain sense her genuineness are applicable to "the fool." - Hiroyuki Owaku

Lost Memories: Heather, the protagonist of Silent Hill 3, is the reincarnation of the two young girls who appeared in Silent Hill 1, Alessa and Cheryl. This girl, who carried The God inside her body as a result of the ritual that Dahlia once conducted, assumed an alias and dyed her hair to conceal her whereabouts. However, seventeen years later, because her body had matured enough for her to take on the rol of the Mother, her existence was percieved by the religious organization. One can think that Vincent's line, "the time has come" also signifies the fact that Heather's body has matured as the Mother of The God. Additionally, Heather's abilities as the Mother of The God are awakened as she regains her past memories in the game, and a premonition of this is already appparent even in the bad dream that immediately follows the opening. What becomes the scene of the beginning of her nightmare is the amusement park that also appears in the later half of the game. One can think that Heather is endowed with precognitive abilies and that this dream was a warning that she sent to herself.

Her Monsters: Air Screamer - born from "The Lost World" by Conan Doyle. Groaner and Doublehead - born from her fear of large dogs. Mumbler - born from menacing animals and small demons from fairy tales. Puppet Nurse/Doctor (or just "Nurse") - born from her stay in the hospital. Larval Stalker - born from being teased by her peers at school. Romper - born from her fear of adults. Bloodsucker - born from dislike of worms, snakes and the like. Creeper - born from dislike of insects. Hanged Scratcher, twinfeeler, and floatstinger - born from her insect collection. Splithead and Splitworm - born from a fairytale about a great lizard. Missionary - born from Claudia's powers effecting her eyes so that the Cult Member that killed her father resembles a monster. Scraper - born from Claudia's powers effecting her eyes so that Cult members resemble Monsters. Memory of Alessa - "Alessa's Obsession". Alessa's 'other mind' that was seperated seventeen years ago, it is a memory that clings to Silent Hill. Valtiel - not a monster, but her guardian; dirived from "valet", it is the attendant of the god and observes her in order to ensure the birth of the god.

The Wolfs

Leonard Wolf
He was a member of The Order and father of the late Order Priestess, Claudia. Before and after the days of Alessa's death, Leonard was very abusive towards Claudia. The town saw him as an insanely religious man with a fiery temper and placed him in the Brookhaven Mental Hospital. Before his death in the sewers beneath the Hospital, he kills Stanley Coleman out of a fit of rage and tries to convince the 17 year old Cheryl to help him overthrow his daughter. After offering her the Seal of the Metatron, he discovers she wants nothing of his "God" and tries to kill her but is unsuccessful.

Claudia Wolf
Tarot Card: The High Priestess
Claudia was a 29 year old Priestess of the Order, who like Dahlia and Alessa, held strange gifts the cult both honored and feared. Born in 1974, two years after her friend Alessa, she was brought up by her father, Leonard Wolf, who was an abusive and highly religous man, and taught the Order's ways by Dahlia. She was very good friends with Alessa before she was sacrificed. They each liked to play cards and draw with one another.

When Claudia was 5 years old, Alessa was sacrified. She, like many of the Order, was clueless to the fact that her friend was alive and healing. Devestated, she became even more broken at the age of 12, when it was revealed that Alessa was alive. She hated Harry for taking her friend away, and held that grudge for held a deep grudge for 17 years. Claudia continued on with her life, her personality slowly changing into that of a religious eccentric. At 20, she left Silent Hill to attend college in Pleasent River. She was well known around the school for her personality and even attracted cultist in 1994 to search her out. Returning to Silent Hill, she began studying to become a Priestess, working along side Father Vincent.

When she discovered the wereabouts of Cheryl (Heather), she became determined to bring about Paradise on earth. She hired Douglas Cartland to help her get to Cheryl and find Harry Mason. She had Cheryl's father killed by a Order Missionary in hopes of not only nurturing the god-fetus inside of Cheryl, but to avenge the childhood hatred for the man. Using her gift, Claudia placed Heather in the Alternate world to nurture the god-fetus until Cheryl reached The Order's Chapel in Silent Hill to give birth to the god. When Cheryl realizes that she must throw up the god-fetus to survive, she uses the tablet of Aglophotis inside the pendant her father had given her to her two years ago and throws up the god-fetus. Claudia desperately swallows the fetus, merging herself with the Incubus to take the roles as Incubator and Mother of god, falling into the Chapel's blood chasm. Becoming her vision of god (Alessa in the body of Sameal), Claudia is destroyed by Cheryl, the Order's prophisized ascension is halted.

Creator's comment: Her name comes from an Italian actress from the 1960s, Claudia Cardinale. Originally we had named her "Christie," but it was pointed out that this name is too "cute" and so we decided to change it. The model for her was Hollywood actress Julianne Moore. The High Priestess card in the game suggest Claudia. This card means mystery, faith, and dogmatism. Doesn't it seem that the self-righteous way that Claudia behaves as a consequence of being too genuine is in accordance with the meaning of the card?" - Hiroyuki Owaku

Her Monsters: Leonard - his monstrous form is born from Claudia's hatred. The God (Incubus) - incarnation of her mental image of the Order's god (Alessa Form).

The Lakes
Captain Lake? - Captain of the Little Baroness. He had children and a grandson, Eric Lake.

Mr. and Mrs. Lake - Parents of Eric Lake. They died before Eric went to college.

In late 1994, the article about child abuse in the Hope House had just been published and she was worried about her family. After she ventured into the woods, she was found drowned in the river that passes through the forest by Walter Sullivan. Her black hat was found on the murder scene. Her murder theme was "Darkness".

The Baldwins
Ernest Baldwin
He is the director of the Brookhaven Mental Hospital, and owner of the Baldwin mansion. After the death of his 7 Year old daughter Amy in 1991, he wasn't the same. Eventually he locked himself away in his study, researching the black arts in hopes of resurrecting her. When he comes into contact with Maria, he realizes why she's there in the Alternate Town and gets her to bring him the ingrediants he needs to resurrect his daughter. He also doesn't like James, and might have been the one writing him notes all around town. There is a possiblity that he's involved with the Order, as he knows of the ressurrecting spell.

Amy Baldwin - Born in 1984, she is the daughter of Ernest Baldwin. In 1989 she began attending Midwich Elementary, but in 1991, 7 year old Amy's life was cut short when she climbed up into the attic to hide her father's birthday gift and fell from it's window. Before her death, she made him a birthday card, which he found along with the gloves she was hiding. Her room was kept exactly as it was the day she died and her grave can be found in the Baldwin's garden. She liked fairy tales and seafoam green.

While painters were painting the Locaine's roof (a Mediterranean sea blue), Billy was kicking around a ball in the yard. When the wind picked up and the weather started to look stormy, Mr. Locaine stepped out to call them back in. He eventually went out to try and bring Billy back into the house. Unable to find him - except for a shoe where he had been playing - he searched the yard until he discovered his son hiding behind a bush. When Billy didn't come out of his hiding place when he called, Mr. Locaine found his son had been murdered. When her father came out to bring Billy back into the house - to find his mutilated body behind the bushes - her mother came running out of the house in a panic to find Miriam's brutalized body laying on the street. The only reconizable part of her body was a lock of her hair where she had been murdered. Miriam was known for her close relationship with her brother, love of rabbits and making cookies. Her murder theme was "ten hearts".

Others

Jimmy Stone
Tarot Card: "The Magician"
Jimmy was the creator of the Valtiel sect, a part of the Order closer to their God, mediating between the Holy Mother sect and the Holy One (Saint Ladies) sect and acting as executioners. He was known as the 'Red Devil' because of his red triangle shaped hood and liked to play darts. In 1994, Walter shot him in the back of the head with a gun on 1st floor of Silent Hill's Hope House. He was found later with only a shred of scripture near his body. His murder theme was "ten hearts".

Because of his role as executioner, his outfit (red triangluar hoot), connection with Valtiel, and nickname 'Red Devil' - feared by prisoners - he is thought to be (along with George Rosten at times) Pyramid Head.

George Rosten
Tarot card: "The Lovers"
George was Jimmy Stone's right-hand man. He was in charge of the Holy Mother sect, and devoted himself to raising Walter to become a skilled follower. He succeeded in sneaking Valtiel into his unconsciosness to permit the 21 Sacraments to take place, but he could not control him and the 21 Sacraments was performed in a way he hadn't expected. In 1994, Walter killed him with an iron pipe in an underground alter beneath the Hope House. Scripture on the sect was found at the spot of his death. His murder theme was "Ten Hearts".

Toby Archbolt
Tarot Card: "Temperance"
Toby use to be a Priest of the Holy Mother sect in The Order until Jimmy and George were killed. The Valtiel sect's influence began to dwindle and Toby started to do other things to make money for the Order. He began alot of illegal dealings, and used some of the money he got for it to open a sightseeing business in the town. After reopening the Hope House, he was elected to City Council for his contributions to Silent Hill and its people. He is known for his love of gambling, sex, and underage girls. Between 1994 and 2004, while in Mexico, Walter pushed him off a 100 foot cliff, only an old picture book found at the spot. His murder theme was "Gloom".

Andrew DeSalvo
Tarot Card: "The Moon"
Andrew was the guard of the Hope House's Water Prison while Walter Sullivan was growing up. He was hated by all the kids, and Walter even wanted to kill him with the ghost sword he had found as a child after Andrew had stolen back his prison key. Maria
She was born in 1968 to parentage unknown. Supposedly born and raised in the town, she attended Midwich Elementary in 1973 and graduated High School in 1985. Weather she attended college, didn't, or was a college dropout isn't clear, but by 25, she's a successful dancer at the strip club Heaven’s Night. In 1994, it is theoried that she was lonely and considering suicide (or had already shot herself) inside her dressing room when the the town brought her into its Alternate to search out her destiny - to encounter James Sunderland. After encountering Ernest Baldwin (who it is theoried suggests she is a ghost), she comes into contact with James, who finds her to be a very close resemblence of his late wife Mary. Her fate after enduring the Alternate town is still unknown, but Maria the dancer is still present in the town when Cheryl returns in 2003.

Creator's comment: "The heroine from the first scenario also had an existence characterized by a double personality. The first character is "Mary," and so the name "Maria" is derived from that. James bears the weight of the crime of killing his wife, resulting in the creation of this delusion. It is established in the third game that Maria was a dancer at the club Heaven's Night."

He was one of the the few children who had been born into the cult and witnessed many of the beatings Claudia recieved from her father. Ever the businessman, Vincent rebuilt the dwindling Cult and helped it grow after the death of its suppliers. His different ways of running the cult caused alot of animosity between Claudia and he, even though he did admire her for her gifts. While secretly watching out for Heather, he revealed to her that he actually enjoyed the world and didn't want paradise to happen. He also didn't think the monsters they saw were really monsters at all. When Heather finally reaches the ritual chamber of chapel, he steps in to help Heather kill Claudia - but is in turn stabbed by the desperate priestess for interfering with the birth of "God".

Creator's Commentary: His name originates from Vincent Gallo, an actor known for films such as "Buffalo '66". The association is suggested by his unshaven look. He isn't cool like his namesake, though. Modeled after the actor Ethan Hawke.

The Mayor - During 2007-2008, he was Mayor.
